Earthquake / 地震

We had an earthquake in the morning and its epicentre was Tokyo Bay!
It wasn't however the earthquake, which woke me up. It was Namihei. She suddenly started trying to flap about in a panic and it woke me up. Then I realised that my bed was shaking.
I turned on the light in my room, came to Namihei, and tried to calm her down. She looked so scared and finally recognised me and came to me. Well, she may have felt something before the earthquake happened. You know, it's said that animals can have such power... Anyway, we're safe now!

今朝、地震があったのですが、なんと震源地は東京湾。でも、私を起こしたのはこの地震ではなく、なんと波平でした。なみちゃんが突然、パニックに陥ったようにケージの中で飛び回ろうと暴れていたんです。その音に気づいて、目が覚めると、ベッドが揺れていて、地震に気づいたわけです。
部屋の明かりをつけて、なみちゃんを落ち着かせようとそばによってみると、なみちゃんの表情はとても恐怖に満ちていました。やっと私に気づいてそばによってきたなみちゃん。もしかしたら、地震が起きる前から何かを感じていたかもしれませんね。動物には地震を予知できる力があるって言われてますからね。とにかく、今はもう大丈夫ですので、ご安心を！
