Perfect budgie, Ikura / パーフェクトインコ、イクラ。

Ikura visited the vet for check-up today and we confirmed that he was fine!
As for his weight, the vet says it's the ideal one, so all we have to do is keep it.
I also asked about his long moulting period and the vet advised me to let Ikura sleep earlier.
Well, Ikura never stopped chatting... he doesn't care where he is. I was so nervous on the train and when we were in a waiting room in the clinic, it was like Ikura gave a chat show. I was asked if he would always talk like this.
Anyway, it's good to know that he is doing well. Oh, we also enjoyed cherry blossoms after visiting the vet!

イクラ、本日健康診断を受けに病院へ行ってきました。特に問題なく、体重も今がベストなので、このまま維持すれば大丈夫とのこと。
気になっていた長引く換羽については、早めに寝かせてあげるようにとアドバイスをもらいました。
健康優良児のお墨付きをいただいて、とてもうれしい限りなのですが、イクラのおしゃべりが止まりません…。電車に乗っているときは静かにしてほしいのですが、イクラはどこであってもお構いなし。
病院の待合室ではイクラショーでも披露しているような感じになってしまい、ご一緒したみなさんが「いつもこんなによくしゃべってるんですか？」とびっくりされるほど。
病院を出たあとは、少しだけ寄り道して桜を楽しみましたよ。

Sales-budgie, Ikura / 販売スタッフ、イクラ

Recently Ikura did promotion of a a vacuum food container. 
Well, I received the container as sample from a company and used it for a while.
It's quite nice to storage pellets and it seems that Ikura agrees with me.
What I was very impressed is how professional Ikura was. While I took photos of the container, he acted like a professional model and stick to the container. When I took a video clip, I didn't need to do it again and again. I just needed to do it only once... if you want to check how processional he is, please check my post on Instagram!

 先日、真空保存できるという容器のモニターをさせていただく機会があり、イクラがプロ販売員なみの動きを見せてくれてびっくりしたところです。
ペレットだけでなく、無農薬のシードやハーブなどもなるべく密封できる容器で保存できたほうがいいですよね。
モニターする中で、商品の写真やら動画を撮ることになったのですが、イクラがかなりやる気を見せてくれました。
動画は、いっさいNGを出すことなく、ワンテイクで完成したほどです。職場の同僚にも、「無駄のない動き」とほめられました（笑）。

Still moulting? / まだ換羽？

I thought Ikura had already finished moulting, but I was wrong. He lost a tail feather last week and kept losing other feathers too. I have no idea when it will stop... well, I must mention it when we visit a vet in the end of this month.
It's said that we should pay attention to your budgie, when you play with him, not to do other things while you're with him.
Okay, then what about budgies? Ikura sometimes reluctant to play with me and does other things while he plays with me... of course, I feel a bit sad and wish he could pay more attention to me!
Anyway, it's very interesting and important to keep a good relationship with your budgie.

イクラの換羽はもう終わったかな…と思っていたら、先週また尾羽が１枚抜けました。ほかにもまだまだ抜けていて、いったいいつになったら「換羽終了宣言」を出せるのでしょうか。
今月末にイクラの健康診断が控えているので、先生にこの終わらない換羽のことも聞いてみようと思います。
ところで、「ながら放鳥はしないこと」。これ、よく飼育本で見かける注意事項ですよね。放鳥して愛鳥さんと遊ぶときは、スマホをいじったりして、「ながら放鳥」になると愛鳥さんにストレスを与えるというわけです。
では、愛鳥さんの飼い主へ対する「ながら遊び」についてはどうなるのでしょうか？
イクラ、たまに私と遊ぶのがつまらないのか、他のことをしながらとりあえず私とも遊ぶということがあります。飼い主だって、「ながら遊び」をされると微妙な気持ちになりますね（笑）。
愛鳥さんと良い関係をキープするのことはとても大事だし、また興味深いことでもあります。

Getting familiar / イクラはうちの子

Today I booked a health check-up for Ikura. Although his moulting is not completed yet, I'm sure he'll be alright by the end of this month.
Well, these days I can see Ikura is very relaxed and thinks this is his home.
First of all, he goes to the living room freely and comes back to my room when he gets bored or wants to go to bed. Before he didn't go anywhere without be though!
And then look at this picture. It seems that he isn't afraid of anything and his appetite always wins. He goes into the jar voluntary and isn't in a panic inside at all. He was in a panic before... he really grew up, didn't he?!

今日、イクラの健康診断の予約をとりました。まだ換羽は完全に終わっていないのですが、今月末までにはきっと終わっているはずです。
最近、イクラがとってもリラックスしていて、ここが我が家だと思っているように感じることがよくあります。
まず、勝手にリビングへ遊びに行ったり、つまらなくなったり、眠くなったりすると自発的に私の部屋に戻ってきます。
前は私と一緒でなければどこにも行きたがらなかったんですけど。
そして、１枚目の写真です。イクラ、恐れより食い気が勝っているようです。自らシード入れの中に入り、パニックになることもありません。以前だったら中に誤って入ってしまったらパニックになって必死に出ようとしていたのですが。イクラ、大人になったんですね（笑）。

A pleasant spring day / 暖かい１日

It's a pleasant day like a spring day in April here. So I did let Ikura enjoy the sunshine outside. Well, he was a bit nervous first, but soon he started relaxing.
Unfortunately winter days will come back, so we must be prepared for the freezing days.
Well, I really have no idea when he will stop moulting. It never stops!
But I can see Ikura comes into season and guess what, he bit me yesterday for the first time! It was really painful and he did it again this morning too. Hmm... I want to tell him not to do that, but don't you think it's the sign that he finally grew up?

今日は４月並みの暖かい１日。イクラも外で日光浴を楽しみました。いつも網戸越しだったせいか、最初は緊張気味のイクラでしたが、すぐにリラックスモードに。
明日からはまた冷え込み、冬に逆戻りとのことなので、しっかり防寒対策もしないといけませんね。
それにしても、イクラの換羽はいったいいつになったら終わるのでしょうか。また抜け始めていて、終わる様子がまったく見られません。
それでも、どうやらイクラは初めて発情期を迎えたようです。昨日、初めて本気噛みされました。そして今朝もまたガブリ。とっても痛いし、できればやめてほしいのですが、それでも、なんだかイクラが大人になった気がして、うれしい気持ちも隠せません。
