The 1st anniversary of Namihei's death / 波平の命日

Namihei passed away last year on this day. It was one year ago? It's already one year passed? Well, I've got mixed feelings.
As you may know, she died after battle of cancer. I expected that we could spend more time, but she knew the time would come soon.
I'm not sad. I can't be sad, but I still do miss her so much and I believe that she was the one who brought out the best in me. Because of her I was able to be kind to others. Because of her I decided to take photos of budgies to show how fantastic they are to the world.
Now I've got Ikura and Tara. I'll do my best to look after them and make them happy.

昨年の今日、11時50分に波平はガン闘病の末、永眠しました。この１年、あっという間だったような、長かったような…。
ご存知の方も多いと思いますが、波平はクチバシに腫瘍ができてしまい、上クチバシの切除という難しい手術を乗り越え、闘病していましたが、すでにガンが転移していたようで短い生涯を終えました。
出会ったときは、この先10年くらい一緒にいるんだと当たり前のように思っていましたが、あまりにもはやくお別れの時が来てしまったんですね。悲しいという思いは、持ってはいけませんね。それよりも、どんなに短くても、こうして出会えて、一緒に時間を過ごせたことに感謝したいです。
なみちゃんのおかげで周りの人に少しだけ優しくなれました。なみちゃんのおかげで、インコの素晴らしさを世界に発信したいと写真を撮ることができました。
そして今、私はイクラとタラという２つの命に対して責任を持っています。この２羽が幸せに鳥生を全うできるように、全力を尽くしたいと改めて決意しました。

A comfortable distance between Ikura and Tara / イクラとタラの心地よい距離

These days I often see that Ikura and Tara hang around together.
When Ikura is in the living room and Tara is in my room, they call each other.
So... I think they're getting along each other and figuring out their comfortable distance.
Besides Tara copies what Ikura often says, so he keeps saying "Ikura kura kura", though his name is Tara!
Today I visited an exhibition of bird paintings. Every work was amazing and I have got a lovely illustrated book. Hmm... it seems that Tara also liked it. Well, don't you think these three budgies look like Namihei, Ikura, and Tara?

ここ最近、イクラとタラが放鳥中に一緒に行動するようになりました。
そして、イクラがリビング、タラが私の部屋と離れていると、互いに呼び鳴きしあうんです。
きっと、なんとかふたりでうまくやっていこうと、お互いの心地よい距離を模索中なんでしょうね。
さらに、タラはイクラのおしゃべりをマネする始末。そんなわけで、タラも「イクラ～、クラクラ～」なんて言ってるわけです。自分の名前はイクラじゃなくて、タラだってこと、わかってるんでしょうか（笑）。
ところで、今日は銀座で開催中の「鳥がすき！展」に行ってきました。どの作家さんの作品も素晴らしかったです。自分へのお土産として購入したものの１つが、永田かのんさんの「とりほん２」。かわいいイラストはもちろん、添えてある文章も優しくて、ほっこりします。
タラも思わず見入ってしまうほどの魅力ですね！タラが見ているこのページ、私には描かれているインコちゃんたちが、波平、イクラ、タラに見えて仕方ありません。

Ikura has got a follower?! / イクラのフォロワー

Ikura is still suffering from moulting and yes, he looks so miserable. But don't worry, he is doing well. When he is in a good mood, he enjoys bathing.
Well, today I want to talk about Tara. Okay, he is adorable and I do love him, but... he is an evil-minded budgie?!
He often follows Ikura and wants to take anything Ikura has got. And when Ikura is with me, Tara mostly pushes Ikura out and he stays with me... is it natural as a younger brother?!
I really hope Ikura has no stress with Tara. Sometimes I see them playing together and it makes me feel so happy. Hmm... I must teach Tara how to behave.

イクラはまだ換羽真っ最中で、ツクツクお顔になっています。見た目はとても辛そうなのですが、食欲もあり、元気にしています。ご機嫌なときには水浴びも楽しんでいますよ。
今日はそんなイクラではなく、タラのお話をしたいと思います。
タラもかわいい家族の一員なのですが、どうも問題児なんですよね。
いつもイクラの後を追いまわし、イクラのものを何でも欲しがります。イクラが私のところにいる時は、わざと飛びこんできてイクラを追いやってしまう始末…。これが年下兄弟のさだめなのでしょうか？
とにかく心配なのがイクラ。こんなタラに愛想をつかし、ストレスを感じたりしていないのでしょうか？ふたりが一緒に遊んでいる姿を見ると、とても幸せな気持ちになります。こうなったら、タラの教育をしっかりするしかないですね。

Summer heat, diet, and moulting / 夏の暑さとダイエットと換羽

Everyone can be so tired with this summer heat. Everyday it's nearly 35C and this high humidity will make us exhausted.
Ikura and Tara are suffering from moulting too, so Ikura is a bit grumpy. Well, I can understand him. It must be tough to face moulting.
Fortunately Ikura has lost some weight successfully, so now I must think of how to keep the ideal weight.
As for Tara, I want to call him curious budgie. He can approach new toys without hesitation (though it sometimes takes a bit time) and is good at playing with them.
Oh, recently I found Tara's special skill. He can sleep anywhere. I found him sleeping with putting his face in the meal box. Is that comfortable?!

この夏は誰もがこたえる暑さですね。東京も連日のように日中の気温は35度を超え、さらに湿度の高さが疲労感を増加させます。
この暑さに加え、イクラとタラは絶賛換羽中。イクラがご機嫌ななめになるのも仕方ないですね。
イクラ、そんな中でダイエットは成功し、今後はこの体重をキープしていくことを考えないといけません。
タラはというと、好奇心のかたまりのようなインコに成長しています。新しいおもちゃにもためらうことなく近づいていき（たまに時間かかりますが） 、上手に遊んでいます。
それから、タラにはどこでも眠れるという特技もあるんですよ。先日、ごはん入れに頭を突っ込んだまま眠ってました。苦しくないんでしょうか…。
