I'm wondering what Namihei is doing and what she is thinking when I am not around her.
Is she thinking how to break the barricade around my bookshelf?
At least I can tell she is learning new things day by day and I'm quite impressed with that.
Perhaps she will have green veggies now? Well I must give it a try!

飼い主がいない間、波平はいったい何をして、何を考えて過ごしているんでしょうか。
どうやったら本棚に侵入できるか、なんて考えているんですかね。
少なくとも言えるのは、なみちゃんは日々新しいことを学んでいるということ。
たぶん、今度は小松菜も食べてくれるかな？近々、チャレンジしてみたいと思います！

Me, me, always me! / こっちを見て！

Well, Namihei doesn't listen to me, but it doesn't mean she is all right to be ignored by me.
Yes, she always wants attention from me.
She bit me a lot, so I just stopped playing with her and tried to ignore her. Then she started rolling... she certainly knows how to get attention. What a budgie she is!

波平は飼い主の言うことはほとんど聞きませんが、飼い主から無視されても平気…というわけではありません。
そうです、いつも注目されていたいんです。
あまりにも噛んでくるので、一緒に遊ぶのをやめ、なみちゃん無視作戦開始。すると、なみちゃんが転がり始めたではありませんか。どうやったら注目されるかわかっているんですね。ただものではありませんね、なみちゃん…。

How to lure Namihei / おびき寄せ作戦

I've got a cunning plan! Now it's time for me to say that.
Well, I've found a good way to let Namihei go back to her cage. Yes, it's a good trick and still working well.
I just use a budgie plushie looks like Namihei. When I put it in Namihei's cage, she follows it and gets back to her cage. I'm not sure if she welcomes her new company though. She may follow it, because she wants to attack it.
Okay, now I call it "Pi-chan". I hope Pi-chan can lure Namihei for a while.

ようやく波平をケージに戻す方法を見つけました。インコのマスコットをケージに入れると、なみちゃんも追いかけてくるんです。好きだから追ってくるのか、それとも自分のテリトリーに入られるのが嫌で追ってくるのかは不明ですが、飼い主にとっては非常にありがたいです。
このマスコット、名前がなかったのですが、これからは『ピーちゃん』と呼ぶことにします。
ピーちゃんがこれからもなみちゃんをうまくおびき寄せてくれますように！

Namihei has got a situation. / 問題あり

I've made a new playland for Namihei, but it seems she doesn't appreciate it. She seldom goes there to enjoy herself. Instead, she has a passion for breaking my property!
Anyway, so I put some plushies there. Then Namihei noticed something wrong and dashed to her land! Well, it was quite funny to see her panicked. ha ha
I'm sure you know what happened next. Yes, she attacked all of them! She is a real warrior, I suppose!

波平のために新しい遊び場を作ったものの、本人はお気に召さなかったようで、あまりそこでは遊んでいません。むしろ、飼い主の本棚を攻撃する方が楽しいようです。
というわけで、代わりにマスコットを遊び場に置いてみたら、異変に気づいたなみちゃんがもうダッシュしてきました。
焦ってるなみちゃんもなかなかかわいいですよ（笑）。
そして何が起こったのか…。もちろん、マスコットたちを攻撃してましたよ。はい、なかなかの戦士ですね、なみちゃんは！

Let It Go / ありのままで

I'm talking about Namihei. Yes, she is always herself and acts herself.
If she is reluctant, she won't come to me, even if I call her thousands times!
When she is in a good mood, she will dance with me together, which is really funny and cute.
By the way, I still have a difficulty to let her go back to her cage. Is anyone know a good method?!

そうです、波平のことです。いつも自分らしくありたい、これがなみちゃんのモットーのようです。
嫌だったら、たとえ飼い主に名前を何千回と呼ばれても、来ないでしょうね、きっと。
もちろん、気分が乗ってるときは、いっしょに踊ってくれますよ。これがとってもおかしくてキュートなんです。
ところで、まだケージに戻ってもらうのに苦労が絶えません。どなたか良い方法をご存知じゃありませんかね。

Snob! / 気取った波平

Yes, I'm sure Namihei thinks she is lovely. This is why she can pose like think when I take a photo of her...
She grew up a little bit these days. Her weight is 46g now. Just in case, she is not unfit. You know, she is a "jumbo" budgie.
Well, I'm trying to protect my property from her, but she's also learning how to break it... she is quite smart, isn't she?

波平は、きっと自分のことをかわいいって思ってるんです。だからこんなポーズがカメラの前で取れるわけですよ。
最近、また少し大きくなったなみちゃん。体重は46グラムです。肥満じゃないですよ、念のため。なみちゃんはジャンボセキセイインコですからね。
部屋にあるものをなみちゃんから守ろうとしていますが、なみちゃんもなんとか抜け道を探ろうとしています。結構賢いんですね、なみちゃん。

Enchanted / 魅せられて

Namihei loves looking in a mirror. I'm wondering if she recognises what she can see through a mirror.
Either way, I'm sure she fancies herself!
And I know she think she is lovely. Yes, she is such a budgie...

波平は鏡を覗くのが大好き。そこに何が見えるのかわかっているのかは不明ですが。
いずれにしても、なみちゃんは自分のことが大好きに違いありません！そして、自分のことをかわいいと思っていますね。なみちゃんってやつは…（笑）。

Let's tame Namihei! / 手のりの波平

I went to a bird shop and bought new toys for Namihei.
Yes, I made that playland for her!
Recently we were not doing well, so it's time to do something.
I also need to work on protecting my property... she always tries to destroy everything and wants to drop everything too. Oh well... I shall not give up!

表参道にあるバードショップにて、なみちゃんのための新しいおもちゃを購入してきました。そうです、新しい遊び場を作りましたよ！
最近うまくいってなかったので、何か行動を起こさねば、と思ったわけです。
部屋にあるものをかじられないように、いろいろ他にもやることがあります。なみちゃん、何でも壊すし、何でも落としたがるんですから。
私も負けません！

I'm knacked... / お疲れ波平

It's Friday night and I'm so tired... yes, I worked so hard this week. Indeed, it was a really hard week.
Perhaps Namihei is also tired, because she wasn't so energetic tonight.
She even dozed off on my finger. I know she trusts me enough!
Well, she also voluntarily got back to her cage. I really hope she is just tired though...

金曜日の夜ですからね、疲れてます。今週は一生懸命働きました。本当にヘトヘトの１週間です。
どうやら波平もお疲れのようです。夜の放鳥時はあまり活動的ではなかったんです。
飼い主の指に止まって居眠りもしていたくらいですからね。もちろん、信頼関係あっての居眠りでしょうが！
しかも、自主的にケージに戻りました。単に疲れているだけならいいんですけど…。

To make friends again / 仲直り

A couple of nights ago, I finally couldn't stand Namihei's behaviour and shouted to her with slapping the table (not Namihei!).
Well, she was shocked and frightened so much. To be honest, I thought this would be the end of our relationship!
On the following morning I was so afraid to wake her up, but she looked all right and came to me as usual.
Okay, now I'm trying to be her good mum again. We did play together a lot. I hope I can rebuild her trust... or just start building it?!

2日前の夜、とうとうなみちゃんの悪行に耐えきれず、机をバンっと叩いて、叫んでしまいました。ショックを受けて、怯える様子を見せるなみちゃん。もう私たちの関係は終わった…と思った瞬間でした。
翌朝、なみちゃんを起こすのが怖かったのですが、意外にも本人はフツーにしていて、いつも通り飼い主に寄ってきました。
ちゃんと優しいママになるからね。一緒にたくさん遊び、これでまた信頼を取り戻せるといいのですが。って、取り戻すというか、今から築き上げることになるんですかね？！

I can't hear you! / ふて寝する波平

On Sunday night, I'm sure everyone wants to relax at home. Well, so am I!
But last Sunday night, I really got angry with Namihei, as she kept biting me.
So finally I scolded her for her bad behaviour. And what did she then? She pretended to sleep and didn't listen to me! What a budgie!!!
After that she fluttered her wings and showed how much she was pissed off...
Since then our relationship is very fragile and I know I have to do something on it!

日曜の夜は、誰だって家でくつろぎたいもの。私だってそうです。でも、この間の夜は、波平に怒りまくりました。だって、噛みついてばかりくるんですから。
ついに素行の悪さを叱ると、なみちゃんは何をしたと思いますか？ふて寝しだしたんです！なんてインコなんでしょう…。
その後は、羽をばたつかせてイラつきを見せるなみちゃん。
それ以降、私たちの関係はとっても微妙なものに。わかってますよ、関係修復のために何かしなくてはいけないことは！

Marvelous budgies / すごいインコたち

Well, I'm not talking about my budgie, Namihei. Look at the photo. They are so huge!!! I found them in Akasaka, Tokyo. What for? Who made them? I have no idea.
I think these eyes will be shining at night. Hmm... I should visit there at night someday.
Oh, I shouldn't forget about my budgie, Namihei. She is very aggressive and violent now. Yes, I'm suffering from DV!

波平のことではありません。写真を見てください！本当に巨大です。これ、赤坂で発見しました。何のためにあるのか、誰が作ったのかはナゾです。
たぶん、夜になると目は光りますね。いつか確認しに行きたいです。
波平のことも忘れていませんよ。彼女、すごく凶暴になってます。そうですよ、飼い主はDVに苦しんでいます…。

How to Win Namihei & Alienate Her Poo

I think this is the third time that I went to work with Namihei's poo.
Well, I checked my shoulders in the loo though.
One of my workmates said "You have got dust on your back". Actually she knew it was a bird poo, as she also kept a Java sparrow.
I remembered Namihei was staying on my back while I was hoovering in the morning. I'm sure she left her mark at that time! Anyway, I should be more careful from now on...

これでおそらく３度目ですね。なみちゃんの落し物を付けたまま出勤してしまったのは。ちゃんとトイレの鏡でチェックしたつもりだったんですけど。
同僚が、「背中にゴミがついてますよ」と言ってくれたのですが、彼女もそれがなみちゃんのフンだってことは気づいていたようです。彼女も文鳥を飼ってましたからね。
そういえば、朝掃除機をかけていたとき、なみちゃんが背中にしばらくしがみついていたんですよね。きっとそのときですね、マーキングされてしまったのは。これからはもっと気をつけなければ！

Stick to anything! / こだわり

It seems that there are many things interesting for Namihei in my room. Once she sticks to one of them, she can't see anything other than it. So usually she ignores me as well.
She is fond of hanging around the book shelf, but nowadays she finds something interesting in the bed.
Well, she fancies socks... Why does she like them? I have no idea...

波平は私の部屋でたくさんのお気に入りがあるようです。お気に入りに目がいくと、もう他のものなんて目に入りません。というわけで、飼い主さえも無視されます。
本棚で遊びまわるのが好きなのですが、どうやら最近はベッドの上でもおもしろいものを見つけたようです。
なんと、靴下が好きなんです。なんで靴下？私も理解不能ですが…。

Big eater, Namihei / 食いしん坊、波平

I love eating. So does Namihei!
I think she is becoming like me... so if she behaves badly, I'm to blame for it, I suppose.
Anyway, recently she eats a lot!
I put a feeding plate on my desk so that she can feeds herself when she is out of her cage.
It seems she spends a lot to enjoy her meal. Her weight is around 45g now and I've told that the average weight for adult budgie (jumbo) is 50-60g. So she is still fit! 

  飼い主、食べるのが大好き。波平も同じようです。たぶん、飼い主に似てきましたね、なみちゃん。だから、悪い子としても、責めるべきは自分ってことですか。
最近、よく食べるんです。
放鳥中もご飯が食べられるよう、机にシードを入れたカップを置いているのですが、そこでご飯を楽しんでいる時間がとっても多い気が。
なみちゃんの現在の体重は約45グラム。ジャンボセキセイの成鳥の平均体重は50から60グラムと聞いているので、まだ健康体ですかね！ 

The Rolling Budgie / ゴロゴロ

When I was a kid, buggies were around me, as my dad loved birds.
But... I didn't know budgies liked rolling a lot. Or is it just only Namihei?!
It seems that she does rolling when she is in a good mood. So I'm sure she does enjoy rolling.
She usually keeps rolling for a while and then eventually returns to herself.
It's really funny to see her face at that time. ha ha
Hmm... Namihei might try to become a gymnast? I say she has a talent for that!

小さい頃、父が鳥好きだったので、我が家にはたくさんのインコたちがいました。でも、インコがこんなにもゴロゴロ転がるのが好きだったなんて、知りませんでした。それとも、これって波平だけでしょうか？
どうやら、なみちゃんがご機嫌なときにゴロゴロ転がっている気がします。というわけで、転がるのを楽しんでいるわけですよね。
しばらく転がって、ハッと我に返ったときのなみちゃんの表情は、本当に笑えます！
もしかして、なみちゃんは体操選手でも目指しているんでしょうか。もちろん、才能あると思いますよ！

Hang on! / ちょっと待って！

Namihei is learning a new word. She was practising it in the morning. Well, now she is trying to say "Hang on!"
Well, this is the one I often say to her when she shows signs of impatience.
She started saying her name, "Nami-chan" after a couple of months after coming to my house. Then now she can say "Yes" as well.
I once tried to teach her a Russian word, but she showed no interest and I eventually gave it up.
Anyway, it seems that she just picks up words I tell her again and again. So I really have to choose the right word!

 波平が新しい言葉を覚えようとしています。今朝、練習していたんですよ。新しい言葉は、「ちょっと待って」。これ、なみちゃんがイラついている時によく私が言う言葉なんです。
なみちゃんが自分の名前を言えるようになったのが、お迎えしてから２カ月後のこと。今では「はい」も言えます。
一度、ロシア語の単語を教えようと頑張っていたのですが、なみちゃんが全く興味を示さなかったので、あきらめてしまいました。
どうやら、飼い主がよく言う言葉をピックアップして覚えているようです。というわけで、言葉遣いには気をつけないといけませんね！ 

Don't kiss me! / キスはダメ！

What a disaster! I'm not talking about Namihei. I'm talking about myself.
I got a pain in my belly in the morning. Since 4:00 am, I was suffering from the pain and diarrhea, and kept vomiting too.
Anyway, I managed to go to work afternoon though.
I can think of several causes and one of them is Namihei.
She kissed me several times last night and she might have passed me a germ. You know, it can be possible, I think. Fortunately she is doing well and not suffering from anything though.
I'm not feeling well, but want to post this article today, because we have been together for 6 months exactly! Yes, she came to my house on the 3rd of October, 2014.
Besides her photo appeared in a bird magazine! Look at this!!!
Since I was too weak to chase Namihei today, I put the photo of Namihei when she came to my house.

大惨事です！波平のことではなく、今日は私自身のこと。朝、急に腹痛が起き、4時からずっと激痛と下痢に苦しみ、吐きまくってました…。午後にはなんとか出社できたんですけどね。
いくつか原因が考えられるのですが、その１つがなみちゃん。昨晩、何度かチューってされたので、もしかして、波平菌までもらってしまった？！
ただ、なみちゃん自身は元気いっぱいなので安心ですが。
気分は良くありませんが、どうしてもこの日にブログをアップしたかったんです。それは、今日でちょうどなみちゃんがやってきて丸半年が経ったからなんです。
さらに、鳥さん雑誌『ALL BIRDS』の3月号になみちゃんの写真が掲載されたんですよ。
今日はなみちゃんをカメラで追いかけまわす気力がなかったので、なみちゃんが我が家にやってきた時の写真をアップします！

Namihei wants a friend / 友だちがほしい

I'm always wondering... Does Namihei know what she looks?
Well, she has been very energetic and she sometimes shows her weird dance.
Of course, I'm glad to see her in a good mood, but don't want her to be a wanderer in my room!
This morning she was obsessed by my budgie mascot. Perhaps she wanted to become its friend, but she looked rather like a bully.
I got this mascot, because it reminded me of Namihei. She also felt the same way?
Oh, she doesn't want to eat green veggies, but she can bite a green budgie mascot!

波平は、自分がどんな姿をしてるかって、わかっているのでしょうか？
ここ最近、ハイテンションで時々変なダンスも披露してくれるなみちゃん。
もちろん飼い主もなみちゃんがご機嫌なのはうれしいのですが、部屋を勝手に歩き回られるのはちょっと…。
今朝はインコのマスコットに心を奪われていたようで。マスコットインコと友だちになりたいのでしょうか？でも、なみちゃんはいじめっ子にしか見えませんでした（笑）。
このマスコット、なみちゃんに似ていると思って買ったのですが、なみちゃんも同じことを思ったんでしょうかね。
そういえば、青菜は食べないくせに、緑色インコはガジガジできるんですね！

With great budgie comes great responsibility / 大いなるインコには大いなる責任が伴う

Yes, I'm talking about you, Namihei!
I really need to keep an eye on Namihei while she is playing in my room.
She enjoys dropping everything including her own poo...
It's so lovey that she tries to follow me and show "look at me" attitude though.
Well, I found that I had got a shit on my shoulder when I got to work. Of course, that's the work of Namihei.
I'm sure some people found it disgusting on the train! Or did they think I had got toothpaste there? Well, I hope they did!

大いなるインコ？！そうです、波平のことですよ。
なみちゃんが部屋で遊んでいる間は、目を離してはいけないんです。なぜって、何でも落とすのが楽しいみたいで（あの、自分の落し物も含めてですよ）…。
なみちゃんが後をついてこようとしたり、「こっち見て～」アピールをしてくるのはとってもかわいいんですけどね。
今朝、職場に着いてから、上着の肩のところにフンがついているのを発見。そうです、なみちゃんの仕業ですよ。
電車で、きっとみんな嫌だ～って思ってましたよね。それとも、歯磨き粉がついてるよ、この人って思ってくれてたり？そうだったらいいんですけど！
