When I see Namihei, I feel like singing Barry Manilow's "Can't smile without you". Oh, it seems that the original was The Carpenters. Anyway, if you don't know this song, please check on the Internet! This is a good song.
Anyway, I always think of Namihei when I'm away from her. These days I'm super busy at work and can't go home early.
When I got home and called Namihei, she ignored me again! Perhaps she wasn't lonely nor hungry. You know, my mum was at home all day long.
Oh well, I still love you, Namihei!

なみちゃんと離れている間、私はいつもなみちゃんのことを考えています。
最近、仕事が本当に忙しくて、残業ではやく家に帰ることができません。
今日、家に着いたと同時になみちゃんを呼んだのですが、応答なし。きっと、寂しくもなかったし、お腹も満たされていたのでしょうね。母が１日中家にいてくれましたからね。
それでも、なみちゃんのことが大好きですよ！

The weekend is over! / 明日からまた仕事。

I can't believe that the weekend is over and I have to go back to work tomorrow. It was a three-day weekend, so I was able to spend a lot of time with my beloved Namihei.
Even though we didn't play together much, we spent all day together in the same room. Whenever I called her, she always replied to me from her cage. It was really sweet!
Tomorrow she won't be so lonely, because my mum will be at home. I'll do my best to get home early enough!

３連休が終わり、明日からまた仕事だなんて、気が滅入っちゃいますね。今回は貴重な３連休で、波平とも長く一緒にいることができました。
一緒にたくさん遊んだわけではないのですが、1日中一緒に同じ部屋で過ごしましたよ。なみちゃんを呼ぶと、必ずちゃんと返事をしてくれて、本当にかわいかったです。
明日は母が家にいるので、そんなに寂しい思いをしなくても済むはずです。それでもなるべく早く帰って来られるように頑張りますからね！

Namihei copies me. / 波平のまねっこ。

When I eat something next to Namihei, she always copies me and starts eating her meal. It doesn't matter if she is hungry or not. This is why she is getting chubby?!
Well, she loves copying me for other things too. For example, when I open my mouth, she sometimes opens her beak too. When I make a sound with my hands, she also does it with her beak.
I'll stay at home and spend all day with her tomorrow. I'm sure she will enjoy copying me a lot!

 波平の隣で何かを食べていると、なみちゃんも必ず自分のごはんを食べ始めます。これ、お腹の空き具合は関係ないようです。だからどんどん太っていくんでしょうか？！
なみちゃんは私のマネをするのが大好きです。例えば、私が口を開けると、なみちゃんもクチバシを大きく開くことがよくあります。手で音を立てれば、なみちゃんは対抗して？！、クチバシで音を立てます。
明日は日曜日。ずっと家にいるつもりなので、１日中なみちゃんと一緒に過ごせます。なみちゃん、きっとまねっこして楽しむんでしょうね！

I'll be with you. / 一緒にいるよ。

I came back late from work again, because I was super busy at work!
My mum already had given Namihei supper when I got home. Today, she replied when I called her, so she must have been waiting for me, not supper.
After giving her medicine, I let her get out of her cage for a while. Well, she kept sticking with me and followed me whenever I left my room.
That was so sweet and I really felt that she liked me a lot. In Japan it's a three-day weekend, so I'll have lots of time with her over the weekend!

今日も残業で帰宅が遅くなってしまったのですが、母がしっかり波平に夕飯をあげてくれました。玄関からなみちゃんを呼ぶと、今日は元気よくお返事が。つまり、ごはん目当てではなく、ちゃんと私のことを待っていたんですね。
お薬をあげた後、少しだけ放鳥しました。なみちゃん、私にくっついて離れません。部屋を出る度に、一緒についてくるんです。そんな姿がとっても愛おしくて、なみちゃんが私のことを好きでいてくれてるのも感じることができました。
今週末は３連休ですね。なみちゃんと一緒にいられる時間もたくさんとれそうです。

Holidays are over! / お正月休みが終わって。

After a week holiday, I finally got back to work today. I usually look forward to getting back to work after long holidays, because I get bored. But this time, I really didn't want to go to work. Well, this is because of Namihei. I wanted to stay with her.
Namihei still on medication, so I didn't stay late at work today. I've still got a pile of work and I'm not so confident to handle all of them tomorrow.
Now I'm looking forward to the weekend and of course, I'll stay at home with her as much as possible!

1週間の年末年始のお休みが終わり、今日が仕事始めでした。普段は休み中に飽きてしまって、はやく仕事に戻りたいなんて思うことが多いのですが、今回はずっとこのまま家にいたい！と思いましたよ。たぶん、波平の存在が大きいですね。
なみちゃんはまだ投薬治療中のため、夜のお薬に間に合うように仕事を切り上げて帰宅したわけですが、そのおかげで山積みになった仕事が…。明日で片づけられるのか自信がありません。
明日１日頑張れば３連休ですね。これでさらに仕事が山積みになりますが（泣）、なみちゃんとなるべく一緒に過ごせる連休にしたいです。

How about poetry? / 川柳はじめました。

I can't believe that I have to go back to work on Thursday. It's very nice to spend time with Namihei!
Have you ever heard of "Senryu"? It's poetry similar to "Haiku".
Well, I started to put "Senryu" in the caption of Namihei photos on Instagram. I always enjoy thinking of captions, so now it's more interesting for me to play with words.
By the way, the weather was so nice today and I wanted Namihei to have a bath, but she refused. But she often grooms herself, so I thought it would be better to have a bath. Anyway, she is doing well, so no worries!

年末年始のお休みも終盤を迎え、木曜日には仕事に戻ります。波平とこうして１日中一緒にいられるのが理想なんですけど。
ところで、インスタグラムで波平の写真を投稿する際、インコ川柳を添えるようにしました。いままでも、写真よりもキャプションに力を入れていたのですが（笑）、これでますます言葉遊びが楽しくなりそうです。ご興味ある方、ぜひこちらからチェックしてみてくださいね。
今日もとっても良い天気でした。波平には水浴びでもしてほしかったのですが、完全拒否。でも、しきりにかゆがってるから、水浴びした方がいいと思ったんですけどねぇ。ま、なみちゃんは今日も元気いっぱいでした！

Happy New Year! / あけましておめでとうございます。

Happy New Year!
What did you do on New Year's Day? Well, I didn't do anything special. I got up around 7 o'clock and then played with Namihei. Mostly I enjoyed reading.
I think it sounds very peaceful and don't need something special as long as Namihei is with me.
As for Namihei, she was really energetic in the morning and sneaked in my bookshelf again and again. Did she know I had cleaned the bookshelf?! She had not been interested in the bookshelf for a long time though.
She looks very fine, but she is still on medication. I'll take her to the vet again next weekend. Let's hope the year of 2017 brings all of us a lot of happiness and smile!

あけましておめでとうございます。
元旦は、いかがお過ごしでしたか？私はいつもと変わらない１日でした。朝7時頃起きて、それから波平と遊んで、あとは読書して過ごしました。なんだか平和な１日ですよね。なみちゃんさえいれば、特別なことなんて必要ないんです。
なみちゃんはといえば、元旦の朝からテンション高かったんですよ。何度も本棚に侵入したりして。あの、本棚掃除したばかりなんですけど。それを知ってなのか、しばらくずっと本棚になんて興味がなかったくせに、やたらと本棚に行きたがるんです。
元気そうにみえる波平ですが、まだ投薬治療は続いており、来週末にまた診察があります。この2017年が、みなさんにとって、そして波平と私にとってもすばらしい１年になりますように！
