Guns, Hoovers, and Namihei / 銃・掃除機・波平

Well, I'm not talking about the fates of human societies (actually, I was lost whilst reading "Guns, Germs, and Steel". I wasn't bright enough).
I'm talking about our bright budgie, Namihei. She is very cautious about noises and frightened by a big noise easily. But she seems to be okay with the sound of a hoover. I have to use a hoover at least twice a day thanks to her and once I start using it, she stands proudly in front of me (with the hoover) and keeps shouting like a machine gun. Perhaps she wants to prove that she is stronger than the hoover? Okay, Namihei, you won!

今回お話したいのは、人間社会の運命ではなく（『銃・病原菌・鉄』を読みかけて、挫折しました）、我が家の賢いインコ、波平のことです。
なみちゃんはとっても音に敏感で、大きな音がすると、すぐビビってしまうのですが、どうやら掃除機だけは別のようです。なみちゃんのおかげで１日最低２回は登場する掃除機ですが、使い始めると、なみちゃんは私と掃除機の前に立ちはだかって、マシンガンのように鳴き叫び続けるんです。たぶん、掃除機より自分の方が強いってことを証明したいのでしょうか？それじゃあ言ってあげます。もちろん、なみちゃんの勝ちですよ（笑）。
