Ikura's moulting period / イクラの換羽

Last night I found a quite big feather in Ikura's cage. This is the sign that Ikura finally faced the moulting period.
I know it's annoying a lot and that's why Ikura wants to have a bath a lot... she did it this morning!
So now she is growing up and also faces kind of self-awareness, I suppose. She sometimes wants to keep a distance from me.
Oh, she also started talking and so far I've recognised a word, "Nami-chan". Yes, that's how I used to call Namihei. Mum often calls Ikura "Nami-chan" by mistake and we also talk about Namihei a lot. So that's why she picked it up, I guess. Well, she doesn't say her name, "Ikura" yet though!

 昨晩、ケージに落ちていたわりと大きめの羽根。とうとう本格的なヒナ換羽が始まったようです。やっぱり換羽は煩わしい期間なのでしょうか。イクラはやたらと水浴びをしたがります。今朝も水浴びしたところですよ。
イクラもどんどん成長しているんですね。そして、なんというか自我の芽生えのようなものに直面している気がします。というのも、たまに私と距離を置きたがることがあるので（単に嫌われているだけかもしれませんが…）。
それから、おしゃべりも始めていますよ。今のところ聞きとれるのは、「なみちゃん」。そうです、波平ですよ。いつも「なみちゃん」と呼んでいました。母がよくイクラのことを間違えて「なみちゃん」と呼んだり、私たちがよく波平のことを話すので、きっと覚えてしまったのでしょうね。それにしても、まだ自分の名前は言えないのはどうしてなんでしょうかね。
