Quality of Life / クオリティ・オブ・ライフ

Namihei had an operation for the fibrosarcoma on her beak and her upper beak was removed last month.
We did save her life, but I don't think it's enough. Now I want to think of her quality of life. I mean I want her to enjoy her life as much as possible and always remember how much she is loved.
So it was very good for both of us that we were finally able to start playing in my room again. I know it's so boring to spend all day in the tiny plastic case.
It was a national holiday today in Japan, so we spent all day at home together. We chatted together, took a nap together, and then played in my room together.
Oh, I managed to go to a bird shop in Minami Aoyama (which we can reach on foot from Shibuya Station) and got ZupReem Natural pellets. She eats Roudybush one now, but I wanted her to taste something different as well. Hmm... it may not her cup of tea, but we'll see how it goes. You know, it always takes time for her to get used to something new!

波平がガンだとわかり、上クチバシを切除する手術をしたのが先月。幸い、命を救うことができました。これからは、なみちゃんのクオリティ・オブ・ライフを考えていく必要があります。ただ生きているのではなく、なみちゃんがもっと鳥生を楽しめるように、そしてどれだけ愛されているか知ってもらえるように、飼い主として私が努力していかなければいけません。
ようやく放鳥ができるようになり、部屋で一緒に遊べるようになったことは、私たちにとっては本当に喜ばしいことでした。
今日は海の日で祝日でしたね。今日はふたりでずっと家で過ごしましたよ。一緒におしゃべりしたり（意味はありませんが、何か言うと必ず鳴き返してくる波平）、昼寝したり、そして一緒に遊んだり。
昨日は南青山にあるバードモアさんの店舗にようやく行くことができたので、ズプリームのナチュラルペレットのお試しサイズ（40ｇ入り）を購入しました。なみちゃんはラウディブッシュをずっと食べているのですが、毎日同じ味より、変化があった方がいいのかな、と思い、ズプリームを少し混ぜています。今のところ、あまりお好みじゃないようですが、しばらく様子を見ることにします。なみちゃんの場合、いつも新しいものに慣れるのにずいぶんと時間がかかるので。
