Picking / ピッキング

I just took Namihei to the vet, because I saw Namihei picking her feather and ate it whilst grooming herself.
Fortunately there's nothing wrong in her crop and poo, but we have confirmed there are two spots where her feathers are less. At least, she doesn't hurt herself, so we didn't see any scars though.
According to the vet, Namihei is under stress of the endless moulting period. What we can do is give her more nutritious diet and hope the moulting period will finish soon.
When I see her picking her feathers regardless it must be painful, I really feel sad and wish I could do anything for her. Let's hope she will be fine soon!

今、波平を病院に連れて行ったところです。というのも、見たんです！波平が羽繕い中に、自分の羽をプチっとむしって食べていたのを。
幸い、そのう検査も糞検査も異常なかったのですが、やはり２箇所、羽をむしったであろう場所がありました。ただ、体をつついて傷つけたりはしていないので、少し安心しました。
獣医さんによれば、この長引く換羽でストレスをかなり受けているはずだということです。今できることは、もっと栄養のある食事をあげること。そして早く換羽が終わってくれることを願うばかりです。
痛い思いをしているはずなのに、それでも羽をむしっている姿を見るのは、本当に悲しくて、どうにかしてあげたい気持ちでいっぱいです。1日も早く、換羽が終わってくれますように！
