Unpleasant sounds / 不快な音

The typhoon passed Tokyo yesterday and we had a thundering rain this afternoon. I heard thunder a lot whilst working in my office. At the same time, Namihei must heard the same thunder at home. When I came back home, my mum told me that she had been frightened with the thunder. I'm sure she did, because it's rare to hear thunder and she is not getting used to the sound yet.
Well, she is alright to hear unpleasant sounds, as long as she knows what they are. Since I use a hoover everyday, she is fine with the hoovering sound, though it's so loud.
It was good that my mum was with her at home today at least!

昨日、台風が東京を過ぎ去りましたが、今日の午後は激しい雷雨。仕事中に何度も激しい雷鳴を聞きました。同じころ、波平はお家でこの雷鳴を聞いていたんでしょうね。
帰宅すると、母がなみちゃんが雷鳴に怯えていたと教えてくれました。それは怖かったでしょうね。だって、雷の音なんて、めったに聞かないですから、なみちゃんが知っている音ではありません。
どんなに不快な音でも、それがなんだかわかっている場合は、なみちゃんは大丈夫なんです。私が毎日掃除機をかけるので、なみちゃんは掃除機の音なんてへっちゃら。かなりの騒音ですけど。
今日は母がなみちゃんと一緒に家にいてくれたことが救いでしたね！
